The community elected Board have worked closely with Rob and Storm Mason to develop a strategy to improve local livelihoods by investing to community healthy and education, while embarking on several innovative Agro and Conservation initiatives to create employment.

The Board and other influential elders travel the 450,000 acres of Kalepo Conservancy creating awareness and sharing ideas with the 8,500 residents of this arid land.

The Kalepo Foundation works to empower the local Samburu Community to strengthen their wildlife conservation initiatives in the spectacular 450,000 acre wilderness of the Mathews Mountains in northern Kenya. Managed by Kalepo Camp, the Foundation supports the Community through grassroots projects, enabling them to provide habitat to wildlife.
Since successfully partnering with the camp in its first tourism project, the Community has strengthened wildlife conservation in the area. Join us in supporting the Foundation to fund the following grassroots Community projects: xxxxxx. The most immediate need is to launch the next bold wildlife conservation project, a new community-owned Black Rhino Sanctuary within Kalepo Conservancy. Proceeds will go towards an initial campaign by Community leaders to obtain full buy-in of the 18,500 strong Samburu herders in the area, and set up local administrative infrastructure and partnerships to kick-start this ground-breaking Community project.
